Please note: Only TNLTA members may apply for the Tennessee Land Title Professional Designation. If you are not currently a member, you must join the Association prior to submitting your TNLTP application; however, you are not required to be a TNLTA member at the time you apply to take the online course and tests described below.
How to become a TNLTP:
The award of this designation requires all applicants to demonstrate two essential requirements:
- Successful completion and passage of a series of online chapter quizzes that cover all the written material in “The Principles of Title Insurance – Tennessee, and
- A submitted Application showing that you have met the minimum industry experience and participation requirements.
Step 1. If you have not yet purchased the “The Principles of Title Insurance – Tennessee.” ($199, Plus Tax and Shipping), that should be the first step. Click here to Purchase Book.
If you already have the book, you can skip this step.
Step 2. You then pay a one-time online testing fee ($250) and submit the signed Confidentiality Agreement, with regard to the online testing. Click here to Purchase the TNLTP Test.
Step 3. After payment of the test fee, you will be issued a confidential code providing you access to the online quizzes. You will then review the material in the course book and take the corresponding quizzes associated with each chapter. Note: You may take the quizzes at your own pace and you will have full access to your written course material at the time you take each quiz. You must pass each quiz with a minimum score of 85%. You may retake any quiz an unlimited number of times.
Step 4. Once you have satisfactorily completed all the quizzes, you will be issued a “Certificate of Course Completion.”
Step 5. If you are not yet a member of the TNLTA, you need to apply for membership at this time. Please see "Membership" tab for further information.
Step 6. Next, you finalize the TNLTP Application and pay the $99 application fee. The TNLTP Application will include a listing of your years of industry service and participation in industry events documenting that you meet the minimum eligibility requirements. The “Certificate of Course Completion” will be attached to the TNLTP Application.
Step 7. Once the Application has been submitted, the TNLTA “TNLTP Committee” will review the submitted application and recommend issuance of the designation to the Board of Directors. Once approved, you will be authorized to utilize the designation, in all forms and manners allowed by TNLTA.
